The Turning PointAfter Years spent in India and England for his education, Krishnamurti, then aged 27, arrive in California, where he, his brother and a couple of other persons retired in a small cottage. It is there that Krishnamurti will experience what is considered the turning point in his enlightenment. This excerpt is taken from the book "Krishnamurti. The Years of Awakening.", by Mary Lutyens. There is no doubt that Krishna had been greatly influenced by the message from the Master Kuthumi 'brought through' before he left Sydney. On August 12, 1922, about five weeks after their arrival at Ojai, he wrote to Lady Emily:
It was only five days after writing this that he underwent en experience that changed his life, though it was to be some weeks before anyone outside Ojai heard about it. Both Nitya and Krishna wrote accounts of this experience which began on August 17. |
