<Bern> : that was a very interesting presentation of scn
<Zinjifar> : hehe. But all true bern, and we didn't even have to protect ourselves from theta
<Bern> : who would give authorization for his nick left intact in webbing it?
<Zinjifar> : why won't the 'scientologist's come here to out theta us?
<N> : golly, Bern, and did anyone say 'clam???"
<D> : Bern: whaddaya expect from a bunch of squirrels?
<Zinjifar> : I did say drunken megalomaniac N. I think that's actually worse
<Bern> : would D, tashback, zinj, N authorize their nick to be left intact or should I cut it down?
<Zinjifar> : ?
<D> : We left out the bit about E-meter nipple clamps. Darn! Bern: no. do not post logs
<Bern> : ok, I won't use names of those who don't agree to be used
<D> : I don't agree to have my utterances web.
<Zinjifar> : I think you're just barely the only member of the ARSCC bern
<D> : Everything I say is copyright (C) by me.
<Zinjifar> : and with gunbunny posting logs you really should have a good reason for doing so
<tashback> : You'll have to talk to my press agent. :-)
<D> : We will raid you and sue you!!!!!
<Bern> : but what's the problem? All you said was true, right?
<Zinjifar> : I don't think anything we said here was really that unique
<D> : Bern: true and copyrighted.
<Zinjifar> : bern.. I don't mind you taking every line I said and using it. But I would resent having you use it in a posted log that people didn't agree to. If you want to remove everything but mine it's fine with me
<D> : I am also currently in litigation over the copyright to the letter "q". So please use "Skwurrels" if you want to refer to Squirrels.
<tashback> : You can use my stuff, I don't care.
<Zinjifar> : this evening has been brought to you by the letter s
<Bern> : ok, so I have at least one authorization, oops, make that two :-)
<N> : D: the letter 'q' is copyrighted to the muppets and sesame street. Just ask their counsel, Big Bird
<Zinjifar> : but bern.. for your own sake I'd say this.. People are unhappy with gunbunny for a number of things, including posting very silly logs that he thought were somehow shameful. They were'nt
<D> : N: ah, but we have Big Byrd
<Bern> : anyway - I won't have time to make anything of it any time soon
<Zinjifar> : but if you post logs you really should have a good reason for doing so
<Bern> : I just thought it was an interesting presentation of scn
<Zinjifar> : oh.. I think it is too, but we can do it extemporaniously anytimne
<tashback> : Zin, no,he's talking about posting it on his Web site, if I understand right. Webbing it on his Web site, I mean.
That's right. I didn't intent to post it to ARS. Since it is populated mainly by critics it wouldn't achieve any purpose anyway. The whole idea is to give a lively demonstration on the paranoid and distorted (but well meaning) way Scn is being introduced to newbies.
<Bern> : am working more on my spiritual page now anyway
<Zinjifar> : oh.. that's fine with me in any case. But log posting to ARS has gotten to a low ebb. It's so boring that nobody even looks to see if it's been edited for flavor
<N> : Bern: are you the proud owner fo the page that posts ars posts with the word 'clam' in them?
<Bern> : N: that's me
<R> : whos log posting?
<D> : Bern wants to paint us as religious bigots Instead of acknowledging the fine work we do.
<Bern> : I don't think posting to ars would be useful to anything anyway
<R> : then i post bern's private msg's?
It is not posted but webbed, and it is not a private message log, it's a public channel log, where the name of those who didn't explicitely agreed to have it webbed have been edited out (which is more than can be said about Scientology critics, who posted full logs without removing any names or information of a private nature).
<Zinjifar> : anon R, but almost certainly gunbunny.. although.. he says he *didn't* post it. So I guess that means he gave it to wgert or one of that sort
<D> : I go now. Goodnight, N, tash, Zinj, and Bern. Don't let the BTs bite!
<tashback> : D, I don't think he wants to paint critics as religious bigots. He wants to point out inaccuracies in info delivery, and that can only help.
Right again from Tash. Even though the zeal of anticult activist can indeed manifest itself as bigotry, as is visible from the examples on my page, neither my goal nor my interest is to judge who is a "bigot" or not, nor even to blame anticultists who believes they are making some good. My concern is to illustrate the illusions and dangers of the anticult mindset. It also is meant as a warning and education for independent observers, and more and more realize that the cult problem is really on both sides.
